Geelong Bushwalking Club
We offer walks, and occasionally other activities throughout the year in the Geelong area, other parts of Victoria and elsewhere in Australia. Our walks range from day walks to pack-carrying extended walks, so has something for every level of ability.
We program day walks every week on Thursdays and at weekends, once a month day walks on Tuesdays (these are easier walks) and extended walks and base camps of various levels of difficulty throughout the year. See our 6-month program on the 'Program' page above.
Geelong has an excellent range of differing areas for day walks, from the Otway Ranges to Brisbane Ranges, coastal walks to Anglesea Heath, and more.
Visitors may come on up to 3 walks before they need to become a member.
Meetings, with a speaker and refreshments, are held every month at 7.30 pm on the second Wednesday at the South Barwon Community Centre, 33 Mount Pleasant Road, Belmont (see the map below). All visitors are welcome to come and find out more about us.
A monthly newsletter provides members with details of activities to come, accounts of what we’ve done recently and articles of general interest to walkers.
Our program also occasionally includes cycling, canoeing, abseiling and cross-country skiing. Social events include Relay for Life events, where we support research into cancer.
